| The trio at the Clarissa Room, beneath the watch of John Starr: Ross, Len and Paul |
The Artisan Trio was born in 2004 at the Gallery Opening at Artisan Works Gallery, the effort of its three members to create a mellow jazz mood, an easy ambiance suitable to art viewing, conversation, or listening.
Our unique instrumentation (flute/sax, guitar, bass) gives our music, whether jazz standards, blues, variations on classical themes, or original compositions, a warm, laid-back, contemporary timbre.
Paul Blackburn makes his living as a musician and is a guitar teacher at Atlas Music. He plays jazz guitar and has performed throughout Rochester both as a soloist and with various other musicians. He has a website, paulblackburnguitar.com.
Ross Bracco, an engineer/web designer, is a songwriter, guitarist, electric bassist, and acoustic bassist. He has performed many solo gigs around town and also with Moon Salad, W. B. Blues, Blue Cloud Indigo Moon, and the 3-D Electric Blues Band.
Len Messineo, a fiction writer and teacher, plays flute and alto and soprano saxaphones. He has performed with EQ5; Blue Cloud, Indigo Moon; and is a student in the Jazz Studies program at the Eastman School of Music.
